JOB DESCRIPTION
Professional Truck Driver – Canada / US Long Haul & Short Haul
You will be working in a fast paced, hands on environment. These positions are ideal for someone who is self motivated and holds a strong work ethic.
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- · Driver’s License Class 1 (3 Years Experience)
- · Air Brake Endorsement
- · Accident or incident reports (Diver Abstract)
- · Knowledge of both Paper / E-log
Communication Systems Experience
- Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
Specific Skills
- Transport and handle goods
- Load and unload goods at various locations
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Own Tools/Equipment
- Steel-toed safety boots
- Own Vehicle (class 5 license)
Transportation/Travel Information
- Some travel required (Daytime, evenings, over night, weekends)
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
- Repetitive tasks
- Attention to detail
- Sitting / Driving for periods of time
Type of Trucking and Equipment
- Tractor-trailer (Refer, Dry van)
- Dump Trailer
Transportation/Travel Experience
- Regionally
- Inter-provincial
- Major highways in Central and Eastern Canada
- US Routes such as Boston, Florida, South Carolina, and Eastern Seaboard etc.
Salary
